Elbow Park

As the name implies Elbow Park is situated along the Elbow River, 3 kilometres south of the Downtown. It is believed that a whisky trading fort, located within the area of Elbow Park, actually preceded Fort Calgary. The community was annexed to the City in 1907 and was developed after 1910. May of the original homes are still in good condition and the primary concern of the Elbow Park Resident's Association is to preserve the historic character of the neighborhood. In terms of recreation opportunities, Elbow Park is located within close proximity to River Park, Stanley Park, and the pathway.
