When you decide to go and view a condominium you suspect it is right place for you to live. Following the process and map it to your checklist - ensuring it meets your requirements. Once you are satisfied, have your agent schedule the showing.
Following are some suggestions to help you determine if it is the right unit for you:
Look at the detail: Look at the units’ structure - not style. Instead of admiring the rug, lift up the corner to check out the condition of the floors. Test the pluming and toilets. Lift up a picture to ensure there are no cracks in the wall.
Listen: Pay close attention for noise outside the unit from the street or the neighbors. See how close you are to the street or pool area. Look for any new construction nearby that might create noise, block views or generate constant disturbances at inconvenient hours.
Space: Be very honest about how much space you require. Do not get caught up in the décor - If you need two bedrooms don’t settle for accepting only one. Make sure there is enough closet and outside storage space to meet your needs for tomorrow.
Talk with your agent: Poise questions to your agent while you are looking at a property and get their reaction. Be honest and direct. The owner of the property should not be in the unit so you can comfortable and openly talk. Give feedback to help your agent better understand your likes and dislikes. Also listen to your agent’s feedback so he/she can help you establish realistic expectations.
