Here are a couple of refreshing places to check out while you are around Calgary during hot summer days. First on the list is The Living Room, which has a classy front yard patio, it makes you feel like you’ve been invited to an exclusive upscale cocktail party. And the fusion of Italian and French cuisine, with a Canadian twist, is always a must try.

Anyone and everyone comes to the Ship & Anchor, and that’s what I like about that hotspot. Even better, the Calgary watering hole’s 17th Ave sidewalk patio is a prime locale for people watching, and soaking up art & culture.

If you’re destination is the Barley Mill, you might want to call ahead and make a reservation. With three different sun drenched patios to choose from, two on the main level and a warp around on the second level, Barley Mill is always jam packed with visitors. They also cater which is no surprise since the food there is impeccable.

Ceili’s Irish pub with a beautiful rooftop patio. If you're looking for a casual place to hang with friends, enjoy their 20 oz perfect pint beers, catch a game, celebrate a birthday, this is the place to be. It can get a little rowdy on the weekend, especially when the live bands hits the stage, but that is part of the pub’s appeal.
The next stop is The Hose and Hound Neighborhood Pub, the fact that the Hose and Hound is Calgary’s only Fire Hall pub is cool in and of itself. It’s a great neighborhood pub, with an actual ‘pub feel’, and it’s walking distance from FIRST in Inglewood which is a bonus. They also cater parties, with 14 beers on tap, good chefs serving quality foods, another excellent spot to visit while you are in the Calgary neighborhoods.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the condos at FIRST have some pretty sweet views. The views from FIRST’s rooftop Sky Lounge are even better. You’ll feel on top of the worlds partying here. What’s more, every patio at FIRST is equipped with a natural gas line for easy hookup for your barbeque, so you never have to worry about running out of propane. Invite a few friends round, heat the grill and look out over the Calgary skyline or Bow River -- open all week long.
